There are plenty of different thermostats on the market, with various functions and abilities – and the one that is right for you will depend on the tasks you wish to achieve.

Internet thermostats can be controlled online. This means you could send a command from your computer at work just before you log off for the day, so that your heating is on by the time you arrive home.

Phone-controlled thermostats work in a similar way, by receiving their instructions via your phone. You can control the thermostat by taping the keypad or by giving voice commands.

Wireless or remote thermostats are portable devices, which can be taken with you anywhere within the home, and which can usually transmit signals back to the received from up to 500 feet away.

Each thermostat has various capabilities and functionalities, so it’s worth putting some thought into which features are most important to you.
